Switch Girl
Anyone else watching Switch Girl?
I am! I heard about it when I went to DramaFever's first meet up back in September. It's fun to watch so its a change from my melodramatic K-Dramas.
I hope Arata straightens things out soon, Nika is looking miserable...

Recap:// Attention Please Episode 9
Misaki's enthusiasm is winning so far, as she joins the other girls for On The Job Training. The stern Asou, however, will be her instructor and you have to wonder whose spirit will dominate the other. Granted, Misaki still has a lot to learn, but she tends to have an effect on everyone she meets.

First Impressions:// The Heirs
It's the rich chaebol and poor girl scenario again, and why not? It's a winning plot. I'm sure many fans, including myself, went into this with certain expectations and were thrown off by the fact that it didn't follow the standard routine. I found the first four episodes of The Heirs refreshing and it whet my appetite for more.

Melting Moments:// The Heirs
If you haven't seen episodes 1-3 yet, then I'd suggest you not click the "read more" link to see the images. They are a little spoilerish, but nothing you wouldn't expect to happen. They won't have the same impact when you do watch the drama if you see them now, though. And besides, you won't relate to the melting-ness of the moment unless you have watched the drama. Still, Lee Min Ho is worth seeing in all his gorgeousness!

Review:// Master's Sun
Master's Sun is one of the most romantic dramas I've ever seen, largely due to the fact that romance was a character unto itself, embodying the sets, lighting, wardrobe and nuances in the performances of talented actors, not to mention the soundtrack.
Director Jin Hyeok whose credits include The Painter of the Wind, Brilliant Legacy, Prosecutor Princess and City Hunter, knows how to set the scene for romance, but I worried about his lack of experience in the horror genre.

Recap:// Attention Please Episode 8
The rocker turned cabin attendant trainee, Misaki, has had a serious wake up call and is now at a turning point in her life. She received a huge blow at the end of episode 7 that could crush her spirit. It's hard to believe that anything could keep her down for long, though, and so we dive into episode 8 confident that she will prevail against all hardships.

DramaFever and Heirs Premiere
I attended the DramaFever premiere of Heirs a few days ago with Tiger-Zan. DramaFever is co-producing the drama and even though they posted the first episode a day before the event, we decided mingling and open bar wouldn't hurt.
When we arrived to the venue, there was a line to get in. Didn't surprise me seeing as there was a waiting list to get tickets on Eventbrite the same day they were released (Sept.19th).It wasn't too long of a wait, and the weather was ok, so I was happy. We took the elevator to the 14th floor of the building to hit another line to get in. I thought Tiger would die seeing as she hates elevators and barely made it out of that one because of the small and crowded space between the venue area and corridor.
This is our second DramaFever event, and the staff was friendly and fun. The venue was very nice, with a balcony and awesome view of the city. There was a cutout of Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye that people could take pictures with and everyone received an Heirs Poster of the event. An open bar (which disappointed Tiger as she drowned herself in Samuel Adams and Pinot Grigio), appetizers of chicken skewers, sliders and a bunch of stuff that I knew no names for, that sat on the left side of the room while the chairs and a big screen filled the rest of the place.
They started off with an intro and some trivia. This is where I failed. Partly due to not fully paying attention to the question and a complete fog of memory I was chosen to answer the first trivia question. "1. Name 5 dramas, not including Heirs, with Lee Min Ho." Now I thought of 4 but when I asked "4? or 5?" and they responded "5.", I froze up and blanked out. Needless to say, Tiger was pissed off at me for the rest of the night. (I forgot I Am Sam, I only remember City Hunter, Personal Taste, Boys Over Flowers, and Faith.) Other trivia questions that were asked:
3. Name a drama besides Boys of Flowers, where someone nearly drowns.
4. Name a drama someone gets amnesia. (Tiger says All of Them, lol)
5. Krystal stars in 'Heirs'. Name the group she's in as well as 2 of their songs.
6. In 'You are Beautiful', why did the main character have to pretend to be a boy.
Lessons I have learned from this incident. A. Don't drink before trivia. B. Pay attention. C. Google everything before a DramaFever event just in case.
We watched a short personal message from Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho. When it was over they showed a part where they were getting up to leave. Now this part had a few people thinking that the stars would pop out in person and say hello. But they didn't. :(
Heirs Episode one was revealed and received a very positive response from the audience. Much so, that we were shown part of Episode 2 as well. I won't go into detail about the drama, but with adorable english (engrish) and a Min Ho shower within the first few minutes, I can get used to this.
I also meet Stephanie of Crazy For Kdrama and who has been a guest writer for DramaFever. She was pretty sweet and I wish we could have chatted some more. I did get her business card and will keep in touch.(Tiger went to go get drinks and when she came back, she almost killed me for not having my business cards on hand!)
Thanks DramaFever for the awesome event, I hope to attend more in the future and thanks Tiger-Zan for attempting to take pictures and coming along for the ride.

Recap:// Attention Please Episode 7
The cabin attendant trainees continue to strive toward their goals, though some are more successful than others. Misaki's personality might brighten up the room, but it doesn't quite make up for the areas in which she's lacking. We all knew someone like that at work or in school, right? If you didn't, that person was likely you.

POW:// Jung Joon Young
POW is a new segment in our blog, Point of Weakness. Since we tend to have several different tastes... bias...boyfriends or whatever we'd love to call the men that make our fangirling all worth while. I will dedicate a spot for the man that made my heart flutter this week.(or for today since I am pretty fickle when fangirling.)
Today I present to you, Jung Joon Young. Does his name ring a bell? If not, I shall post his beauty and see if it pulls a heartstring or two. (WALLPAPER ALERT!)
Jung Joon Young
DOB: February 21, 1989
Birth Place: Jakarta, Indonesia
Rock singer, plays guitar and is a song writer.
Has lived in several countries due to his father being an international business man.
Can speak 5 languages: English, Korean, Tagalog, Chinese and Japanese
He is listed as an unofficial member of LEDApple (as main vocalist) and did not debut with the group due to contract issues with a different company.
He won third place in Superstar K4 as a solo artist.
Jung Joon Young was in the drama Monstar.
He is currently on We Got Married with Jung Yoo Mi. (4d Couple)
He has a heavy, smooth, unique voice that can make your heart melt and his odd behaviors border crazy and cute. I seriously don't know what to do with the guy so I guess I will swoon for now. When it comes to music he takes things seriously and is somewhat of a genius.

Upcoming Korean Movies
I came across a few movies that have caught my eye for the upcoming months. I am sure its only due to the hot males stars in them. So let's get started with some synopsis info and trailers!
A legendary street fighter (Yoo Ah In) begins to clean up his act while taking care of his sick mother (Kim Hae-Sook). All seems fine and dandy until he is dragged into the crime world, doing all he can in order to pay for his mother's operation. Can he find peace and happiness in family or is he bound for disaster in the web of trouble and gangsters? Desperation is what makes us stronger
This movie marks a return for Yoo Ah In in film since 2011's Punch.
For more info visit: HERE
Lee Joon of MBLAQ plays an actor who becomes a star overnight. But fame comes with a fee as things become dark and the people around him are in danger.
The last thing I saw Joon in was Ninja Assassin back in 2009 though he was in Jungle Fish 2 as well (I think that was like 8 episodes.) The trailer has me highly anticipating the release of this movie as Lee Joon looks like he will play a very convincing role in this thriller.
T.O.P is forced to become a a spy for North Korea in order to save his sick sister. While on mission, he portrays a high school exchange/transfer student. He becomes tangled with a girl in high school who shares the same name as is sister.
This movie will be released in November after a long delay as I heard it was completed way back in the earlier months of this year. Better late then never right?
Seo In Guk and Lee Jong Suk star in a competive swimming movie. Of course they have a rivalry that seems to shift to friendship somewhere along the lines, and there's a love interest involved. Sorry for the sucky synopsis but all I see is shirtless hotties and my brain melted along the way.
I have to see ALLthree four of these movies. Who knows? Maybe I can actually write a movie review soon.

SHINee Everybody: (Teaser)
(via smtown's YouTube) SHINee's Everybody Image Teaser has been released just a few hours ago. It shows the members in dark colors, each sporting their own on/off switch or wind-up piece sticking out of their backs. Seems like they need something to fuel them so they can "turn on". No worries Onew, I got you covered. *smirks*
The ending images have the members lying on the floor with a tube/wire connected to them. What is that that fuels SHINEE? Could it be the music? or Shawols? Guess we will have to wait and see when the MV is released. The suspense is killing me.
EDIT: And now the music video teaser is released as well. Anyone see Taemin spinning around all topless?!

SHINee's Back
Well not quite, but they did perform during Gangnam Hallyu Festival that occurred October 6th (in Korean/ October 5th in the States). They will be releasing their 5th Mini Album entitled Everybody on October 14th.
SHINee performed the title track during the festival. The members wore all white during the performance. The song has a little dubstep flair. The dance seemed slightly weird from the side angle video I saw but it had a robotic feel to it.(which I loved since I feel it is harder for groups to pull off clean, unison moves in. SHINee did a perfect job pulling it off.)
I honestly was waiting for Onew Condition to kick in but the performance and vocals were focused and smooth. (Enter Windmill dance here.) Onew and Jonghyun's blonde hair made it hard for the untrained eye of a new Shawol to differentiate the two in some parts of the performance. (I could tell since I have been going Onew crazy for the last few weeks.) I thought it was pretty awesome and can't wait to see the MV for it. The chorus was too plain for my liking but it was catchy and the performance was enjoyable. I am hoping that it is more of a dance MV rather than a story telling one, just for the sake of being able to become hypnotized by the moves that this kind of beat can stir up.
Of course, once it's out I will post an MV BREAKDOWN, 'cuz that's what Batzy does. ;)
The song that I am looking forward to the most in "Symptoms" which kind of reminds me of Chris Brown's "Take Me Down."I am not posting any video from the Festival as some are of bad quality and being taken down so feel free to search for it on YouTube or Vimeo or Daily Motion or Whatever video site you guys use. I will post SMTown's video for the medley of the mini album and the video to "Symptoms". Enjoy.

Waiting for Sukkie in Beautiful Man
Ever since I learned that Jang Geun Suk would be starring in the new drama Beautiful Man (Yebbeun Namja) I've been in a tizzy. The drama is based on the manhwa of the same name by Chon Kye Young. You might look at it and think that we've seen Jang Geun Suk in this role before, but he does it so well! The arrogant, misguided, cold man whose heart must be melted by a goofy (and probably clumsy) leading lady. It's one of my favorite scenarios, especially when Sukkie is involved.
Dokgo Ma Te (*29) is the most beautiful man in the world. He's also very ambitious; longing for power, status and wealth, and he's going to use his natural assets to his advantage. Hong Nya Nya (39), the ex-daughter-in-law of a rich family becomes his mentor and instructs Dokgo Ma Te to seduce ten successful women who all have a different skill set that he should learn. The women range in age from 18 to 50. Thinking about the casting for this boggles the mind

MV BREAKDOWN:// Block B: Very Good
Yes boys, very very good.
I'll keep this short and with visuals to please.
The Song: Strong guitar riffs. Loud and fun.
The Video: Cinematic at times. Playful and stylish.
The Concept: The boys are shown in a van, with clowns masks, on their way to rob a bank. While at the bank, they raise some hell, dance and blow shit up.
The Meaning: Block B decides to shed the mask of their former company. They don't want to look like 'clowns' (referring to the past incidents of immaturity and company issues) and decide to show their true identities to the world. Plus they will get their money, by any means necessary. I mean within the first 50 seconds of the video, the overdraft window gets shot up, like a boss.
I feel smart for actually looking past cute boys and reading between the lines. +1 Batzy.
With the release of "Be the Light", they seem to be more mature and have grown due to experiences they endured, in a positive way. Reason why I did not post a MV Breakdown of that video is because U-Kwon gets beat to hell in it and that hurt Batzy's lil heart. Instead I will bask in the sexiness that is this MV Breakdown. Care to join me? (Zico and U-Kwon wallpapers towards to bottom of the post. Yay!)
