MV BREAKDOWN:// EXO: Growl (Chinese and Korean Version)

I was not going to write a breakdown this week. There are too many videos coming out that spark my interest, not to mention that I am waiting on the Tasty video to be released so I post about it. There was an uncontrollable urge to write about this video so I shall. (And I SWEAR it had NOTHING to do with Kai and his NY cap.)

EXO...first Wolf, now Growl. I don't know but these boys have really showed their animalistic side. This song has flavor, a little bounce and some attitude. The lyrics scream manliness and I rather enjoyed it.

The video is shot with one camera and each member makes good use of it when the time is right. The uniforms, song and some dance moves keep things consistent and flowing with the theme of the album.

Differences between the video versions? They seem pretty similar, just switched around the team members a bit. The Chinese Version seemed darker in lighting. I like the Korean version of the video better but the members seem more playful with the camera in the Chinese version. (Maybe it's just me.) Either way here's both videos, enjoy!

First Impressions:// Who Are You

Who Are You is one of two ghostly summer dramas I've been waiting to see, the other being Master's Sun.  I'm excited to see Kim Jae Wook in the main cast, and I'm hoping his role is significant despite the fact that he's, you know, dead.  I'm still waiting for him to be a leading man, though.  Kim Jae Wook, hwaiting!

I enjoyed Ok Taecyeon's performance in Dream High, so I have high expectations for him in a main role.  So Yi Hyun most recently played Park Shi Hoo's ex in Cheongdamdong Alice, but this is the first time I'm seeing her as the lead.

Recap:// Attention Please Episode 3

The cabin attendant trainees learn that they will soon be wearing the uniform. However, they have to get through a week of emergency training.  Instructor Mikami explains that besides providing service, cabin attendants must act as security guards protecting lives.  The three minutes during take off and the eight minutes at landing are called the Devil's Eleven Minutes, or the Critical Eleven Minutes because a lot of accidents happen during these crucial minutes.  Makes you a bit more nervous when travelling, doesn't it?

The class suits up in blue jumpsuits and go through various training drills.

Craving something Tasty!?

I'm gonna make this short and sweet but I definitely had to post something about this. Pup-Chan and I have been wondering where these boys have been?

DaeRyong and SoRyong are back!

It's been about a year since their single "너 나 알 아" off their mini Spectrum and boy, have the fans been craving something Tasty!
I viewed the boys website: Tasty 2wins Official Website and its been plastered with a video for a teaser of their comeback video. Are you excited? Cuz I am.

It features the 2wins with more sophisticated and identical look. Its hard for me to tell who is Dae and So unless they have their mouth open. (so I can hear their voice, or see Dae's slight overbite. <3) Random dark imagery of silver items like a watch, a skull and some dancing. I have high expectations for the dancing for these guys in the video and even more so on the comeback stage live performances.

Once the video is up on Wooliment or Tasty's Youtube Channel I will post a MV Breakdown with screenies. For now, drool over the trailer and wait. Dragon Twins Fighting!

Review:// I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK

I wasn't sure what to expect from a movie set in a mental hospital, just that it must be quirky and probably disturbing. All I knew was that it was characterized as a romantic comedy and the female lead thinks she's a cyborg.  If it hadn't starred Rain and Lim Soo Jung, I would have likely passed on it, which would have been my loss.  I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK is one of those films that you can watch multiple times and gain more insight from it with each viewing.

Lim Soo Jung plays Cha Young Goon, a young schizophrenic woman who hears radio broadcasts that guide her in living her life.  One day, the broadcast gives her directions to cut her wrist, insert wires, and plug herself in to be charged.  She's committed to a psychiatric institution for this apparent suicide attempt.

G-Dragon in Vogue Korea (August 2013)

What can I say?  I never get tired of looking at this man whether he's performing, instagramming, cross dressing, or appearing in high fashion editorial spreads.  In Vogue Korea's 17th Anniversary issue, photographer Kim Bo Sung captures GD in three sexy artsy themes posing with lucky super models and commanding three covers.

In the Street Musician theme, which made me think "Post-apocalyptic Bohemian Minstrel" he worked with Kim Sung Hee.  It's playful and fun, and produced my favorite picture out of the bunch; something about GD as a street musician playing a violin is intoxicating to me.

Recap:// Attention Please Episode 2

Misaki is still lagging in class and not having the proper mindset.  The instructor, Mikami, tells her that being a cabin attendant is not as easy as she thinks, but Misaki disagrees with plenty of attitude.  Thus episode two begins with enormous room for character growth and development!

Later in the break room, the other instructor (they never refer to her by name - I should look it up) reprimands Misaki for her improper behavior and dress.  She also complains to Director Dazai who asks her to be patient.

MV BREAKDOWN:// Kim Hyun Joong (Feat. Jay Park): Unbreakable

I was looking forward to seeing Kim Hyun Joong make a comeback and seeing him on Barefoot Friends really wasn't satisfying me so I was definitely excited to see that his video for "Unbreakable" emerged. Bonus for Jay Park being on the track, I think this collaboration is great.

So here's my video breakdown:
The Beat: Love. I don't know what it is about it but the bassline bumps. I can definitely blast this in the car or just dance to it.
The Song: I think it lacks. Sorry. It goes well with the beat but it really was missing something. It's a good party song with a message, a short message. Catchy as hell tho.
The Video: I think the colors go well with the feel of the video. Why the Lamborghini around the 2.08 mark turns into a bull is beyond me. I'm assuming it has to do with going back to traditional ways seeing as the vid is a mix of heritage meets flashy tastes and hip hop. Jay Park's rap flows well and he goes in as always. (Love that boy.) Best part of the video besides that would definitely be the 2.40 mark when rain falls and shirts rip. Rawr~ I'm sure Panda-언니 will be happy with this video.

What do you think?

MV BREAKDOWN:// Infinite: Destiny (Ver. B)

I know fellow Inspirits are ecstatic with Infinite's album Destiny being released today. I am looking forward to seeing the boys hit NY in November.

The video for Destiny (Ver. B) was released yesterday. And here is my short breakdown for the video. Sorry darklings, no screenies this time. (I can't choose.)

As expected, the Infinite symbol has changed its look as it usually does for album releases. I think this one is my favorite.

The song gives off a "Chaser" like feel. With the lyrics pretty much giving off the signature stalker like feel of a boy that is desperately in love, even if she doesn't want him, he's not going anywhere. They are meant to be, lets be how we were before, don't leave, you are my destiny. You know, the usual. lol.

Sungkyu seems to have lost alittle weight while L looks like he's been working out some. Sungyeol has shorter hair than I remember. Sung Jong is still the angelic cutie. Hoya and Dongwoo strut their powerhouse moves and raps while Woohyun brings in his strong vocals to round up the group.

The video gives the boys some random superpowers towards the end which really didn't make much sense to me. But I like how all the boys get to showcase some talent and they look great. All in all, I love the song. The video is ok visually but that's about it. There's no real story to grasp on to but that's ok because the dance moves maintain the boys signature style. Not bad.

Watch the video.

Review:// The Painter of the Wind

Painter of the Wind is set during King Jeong Jo's rule, and is centered around the famous painters, Danwon and Hyewon.  Based on the bestselling historical fiction novel by Lee Jung Myung, Hyewon is depicted as a woman in disguise.

In the drama, Hyewon has not yet received her pen name and is known as Shin Yun Bok.  After her family was murdered, she had been taken in by Dohwaseo painter, Shin Han Pyeong who recognized her talent and wanted the prestige it would bring to his family.  Dohwaseo was the royal painting institute and it was common for painting to be a hereditary occupation.
